While it was 33. The MixBrasil Culture of Diversity Festival reaffirms its vocation as a platform that goes beyond resistance. Under the theme "We Want +", developed by the creative agency Talent, the festival celebrates the desire to expand horizons, voices, bodies and imaginations (in Portuguese the symbol "+" means both more and plus, which evokes an idea of expansion, positivity and connection). This year's issue unfolds amid great challenges for Brazilian culture and the LGBT+ community, marked by a lack of public and private investment and setbacks that still resonate on many fronts.
Even in this adverse scenario, MixBrasil continues to grow. This year, 545 Brazilian films were submitted, the largest number in the history of the festival, a sign of the vitality and creative power of our independent audiovisual scene.
