BORNHOLM - SOUTHERN CHARM IN THE BALTIC SEA

Bornholm, the Danish gem in the Baltic Sea, captivates visitors with its uniquely diverse landscape. Often referred to as the “Sunshine Island,” it offers a mosaic of untouched nature, dramatic cliffs, and gentle sandy beaches that never fail to impress. A special highlight is the cliff coast at Hammershus in the north, where the imposing ruins of a medieval castle majestically overlook the sea. Here, rugged rock formations meet the sparkling blue of the Baltic – a paradise for hikers and photographers alike. In contrast, the southern shores boast endless, fine sandy beaches such as Dueodde. The sand there is so fine that it was once used in hourglasses.

In the heart of the island, a peaceful idyll unfolds with forests, lakes, and fields. Almindingen, one of Denmark’s largest forests, is the perfect spot for walks and nature exploration. The island’s iconic round churches, nestled in the gentle hills, are architectural treasures and bear witness to Bornholm’s rich history.

With its mix of wild nature, cultural highlights, and laid-back lifestyle, Bornholm offers a scenic beauty that enchants every visitor.

DANZIG -THE HISTORIC OLD TOWN ON THE BALTIC SEA

Gdansk, known as Danzig in German, is a port city on the Baltic Sea with a rich and turbulent history. Shaped by Hanseatic architecture and influenced by German, Polish, and Prussian heritage, it attracts millions of visitors each year. The historic Old Town is the heart of the city, captivating with its charming alleys, magnificent buildings, and vibrant atmosphere.

The Long Market (Długi Targ), with the Town Hall and Neptune Fountain, forms the center of the city. Lined with colorful façades and ornate gables, it reflects the city's golden age in the 16th century. Towering above it all is St. Mary's Church, one of the largest brick churches in the world, offering a breathtaking panoramic view over the city.

A walk along the Motława River leads to the famous Crane Gate, one of the city's most iconic landmarks. Museums such as the European Solidarity Centre shed light on Gdansk’s role in world history—from the Hanseatic era to the Solidarność movement. The Old Town is a fascinating blend of cultural richness and historical depth, making it a must-see for every traveler.

COPENHAGEN - A CITY OF HISTORY, INDULGENCE, AND DIVERSITY

Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, is a fascinating blend of history, modern culture, and tolerance. Situated on the Baltic coast, the city boasts a centuries-old past reflected in its impressive historical landmarks. At the same time, it has emerged as a culinary capital and a vibrant hotspot for the LGBTQ+ community.

Copenhagen’s Old Town is a true paradise for history lovers. The iconic Little Mermaid statue, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale, is a symbol of the city and attracts visitors from around the globe. Christiansborg Palace, now home to the Danish Parliament, and Amalienborg Palace, the royal family’s residence, offer insights into the splendor of Denmark’s monarchy. A stroll through Nyhavn, the picturesque harbor lined with colorful buildings, brings the city’s maritime history to life.

But Copenhagen is not only known for its history—it also shines with its world-class culinary scene. The city is home to globally acclaimed restaurants such as Noma, repeatedly named the world’s best restaurant, and Geranium, known for its innovative tasting menus and international acclaim. Alchemist, celebrated for its avant-garde creations, draws gourmets from across the world. Innovative Nordic cuisine using local and seasonal ingredients delights fine-dining enthusiasts just as much as traditional Danish dishes found at charming street markets. Food hubs like Reffen invite visitors to experience culinary diversity in a relaxed and creative atmosphere.

Copenhagen also stands out as a beacon of tolerance and openness. The city is one of Scandinavia’s most important LGBTQ+ destinations. Events like Copenhagen Pride attract thousands each year, and neighborhoods like Vesterbrooffer a vibrant bar scene. With our overnight stay, there’s plenty of time to explore these lively districts or indulge in Copenhagen’s culinary highlights.

THE SHIP

The eco-friendly Vasco da Gama will serve as the cruise vessel, offering an intimate atmosphere with a manageable number of guests—fewer than 1,000 passengers. The Vasco impresses with two pools, one of which features a retractable glass roof, allowing for year-round use regardless of the weather.

When it comes to dining, the Vasco da Gama plays in the top league: it boasts three à la carte restaurants, including the Asian-inspired “Fusion,” which stands out with its attention to detail—such as authentic Japanese floor-level tables. The buffet restaurant also makes a strong impression and feels more like a food court, with multiple themed culinary stations.

In the “Waterfront” restaurant (150 seats), guests are treated to European cuisine in an exclusive, stylish setting. “The Grill” is the onboard specialty restaurant, offering 66 seats. For special occasions such as weddings, silver anniversaries, or birthdays, the “Chef’s Table” (14 seats) can be booked for an additional fee and offers a private fine-dining experience.

For more casual bites, the “Alfresco Grill” serves as the go-to bistro after an excursion or when hunger strikes by the pool. Pizzas, burgers, and hotdogs are all included in the cruise fare.
