A UNIQUE GAY TUSCANY & CINQUE TERRE TRIP 12.06.2025 - 19.06.2025

from € 2,290.00 per person

Join Italy Gay Travels for a scenic journey through Tuscany and the wonderful Cinque Terre coastline in northern Italy. This unique vacation begins in Pisa, a small but charming city famous worldwide for its Leaning Tower. We then travel to Viareggio, a town known for its beach atmosphere and fun. It's located near Torre del Lago Puccini, famous for its summer gay nightlife and beach.

From there, we'll head to the Cinque Terre, the enchanting five colorful coastal villages that are part of a protected national park. Cinque Terre means "the five lands" and refers to the five remote fishing villages strung like jewels along the coast. If you're unfamiliar with the area, look around. We'll make sure you discover all of them during this unique gay Tuscany and Cinque Terre trip: Vernazza, Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, and Monterosso.

June 12, 2025: WELCOME TO PISA

This vibrant city is known for its leaning tower… but it has so much more to offer! Make your way to the hotel and meet up with your fellow travelers and your guide, Sergio, in the evening for a welcome meeting and a complimentary welcome dinner. During the evening, we'll all get to know each other and receive a detailed briefing on the upcoming adventure.

Meals included: Welcome dinner

June 13, 2025: PISA

Optional visit to Lucca

After breakfast, our cheerful travelers meet for a guided tour of Pisa. Known worldwide for its leaning tower, the city of Pisa is also home to a renowned university dating back to the 12th century. The city's historic center boasts more than 20 churches (we are in Italy, after all!), several beautiful historic palaces, and various bridges crossing the Arno River.

In the afternoon, you'll have free time to explore the area at your own pace. You can also enjoy an optional visit to the city of Lucca, considered one of the most charming cities in Tuscany. Lucca is easily accessible by train and boasts impressive piazzas and cobbled streets. You can explore this ancient city on foot; a very nice option is to rent a bike and enjoy a ride along the Renaissance walls that surround the city and stretch for 4 kilometers. Please speak to your guide about the necessary arrangements.

Meals included: Breakfast

06/14/2025: PISA TO VIAREGGIO - TORRE DEL LAGO PUCCINI

After breakfast, we drive to Viareggio, a coastal town that was a popular holiday destination for the rich and famous in the early 20th century. Characterized by magnificent Art Nouveau villas and buildings along the coast, Viareggio is known as the Pearl of Versilia: The promenade, 'la Passeggiata', stretches about 3 km along the sea.

In the afternoon, our exclusive Gay Tuscany and Cinque Terre group will visit the neighboring village of Torre del Lago Puccini. Giacomo Puccini, the famous Italian opera composer, came to Torre del Lago at the end of the 19th century and lived here for over 30 years. In Torre del Lago, he found a picturesque and tranquil setting where his creative genius could flourish (some of his masterpieces were created here, including Tosca and Madama Butterfly). For this reason, this tranquil spot was named after him after his death. We will visit the Villa Puccini Museum, where the great composer Giacomo Puccini lived and worked.

In the evening, enjoy a free pizza dinner in Viareggio: We'll make sure you sample the best cuisine in the area. If you feel like dancing, head to the Mama Mia Gay Club on the promenade: dance the night away with a drink or two.

Meals included: Breakfast, pizza dinner

June 15, 2025: FREE DAY IN VIAREGGIO

Today is a free day: spend your time as you please and explore the surrounding area at your own pace. Your host will be on hand to offer advice and support as needed.

Our accommodation is located right on Viareggio's promenade, making it a perfect spot for a stroll. Many will use this free time to visit the infamous gay beach of Torre del Lago Puccini...

Meals included: Breakfast

June 16, 2025: VIAREGGIO - CINQUE TERRE

After breakfast, it's time to pack your bags and prepare for the final stop of our guided small group tour. We'll take a morning excursion along the so-called Italian Riviera, finally reaching the Cinque Terre. We'll head to our accommodation, located right in the center of these colorful villages.

In the afternoon, you'll have free time: enjoy the lively town center at your own pace. Shopping, beach, gelato... the choice is yours!

Meals included: Breakfast

June 17, 2025: CINQUE TERRE

After breakfast, we head to the marina. We take a ferry along the coast to Vernazza, one of the five remote fishing villages in the Cinque Terre National Park. These small, picturesque villages were once accessible only by water. Fortunately, they are now connected to the outside world by rail, although, wherever possible, it's best to explore life in this truly unique world on foot.

We dock in Vernazza and take a walking tour of this beautiful village, followed by lunch at a local trattoria (own expense). In the afternoon, you can do as you please: either stay in this fascinating town or take the train to explore another village.

Meals included: Breakfast

June 18, 2025: CINQUE TERRE & FAREWELL DINNER

Today, Cinque Terre National Park is your playground. Take the train or ferry to explore the other villages. Once you reach your destination, venture onto the hiking trails: an extensive network of ancient mule tracks will lead you through an extraordinary landscape with terraces built by hand from stone and earth. Enjoy the majestic views along the coast while sipping a drink or gelato (after all, we're still in Italy!).

Whatever you choose, please make sure you return in time for our complimentary farewell dinner outside: unfortunately, it's time to say goodbye as our Gay Tuscany and Cinque Terre trip comes to an end.

Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner
