DRAG OF THE MONTH

We're especially proud of this. In our Drag of the Month series, we're proud to present you, for the first time, a drag king. The male equivalent of a drag queen, so to speak. A woman who has created a fictional character as a man. Jesse White is available for an interview.

A newcomer: The fictional character Jesse White has only existed since April 2020. We discovered him on the show "I Put a Spell on You" by Innsbruck drag queen Vanessa Community , where he had his cards read by Vanessa. The character Jesse White is so young that it's not even clear whether he'll stick with this stage name. It all began in December 2019 when he met his drag mom, Queen Naomi King. (our October Drag of the Month). "Drag is magic, and it captivated me," explains Jesse.

Jesse White isn't a "daredevil" or a "heartbreaker," but rather a man to marry and a shoulder to lean on. The King counts spontaneity, optimism, and romance among his character traits. Admittedly, there is a certain resemblance to Wendler in the pictures. Whether Jesse will use this resemblance as an opportunity in the future remains to be seen.

Most drag queens are masters of their craft when it comes to makeup. For Jesse, the entire process, including the beard, currently takes about 1.5 hours. "I sometimes do the beard more than once until I'm actually happy with it," Jesse admits. The more confident Jesse becomes, the more frequent his performances become. His drag mother, Queen Naomi King, has accepted him as a drag son into the " House of King " community, where he regularly performs alongside other national and international drag artists.

Jesse loves to travel. This June, Thessaloniki was on his itinerary. This year's Europride was also supposed to take place there. Jesse generally lives by the motto: "It's different somewhere else, and that's precisely what's so enriching. You just have to be willing to broaden your horizons."

Jesse appeals for people's tolerance. "Whether straight, gay, lesbian, transgender,... we are all human beings and deserve to be treated with respect! We all only have one life, so everyone should be allowed to do what makes them happy and what they feel comfortable doing." There's probably not much more to add.

We're absolutely delighted that Jesse White is our site's first Drag King of the Month and wish him all the best for the future! He's definitely an asset to the community, and we're sure to have many more positive things to say about him.
