Embark on an unadulterated journey through Ladakh - a region in which the mountains not only surround you, but change you.

You start in Leh, a high-altitude retreat where monasteries, barren landscapes and clear mountain air create the setting for an extraordinary experience.

From there, the journey takes you to the Nubra Valley, over impressive mountain passes into an almost unreal desert landscape in the heart of the Himalayas. Here you can expect sand dunes, two-humped camels and a silence that seems almost sacred.

We continue to Lake Pangong, whose constantly changing shades of blue spread endlessly against the backdrop of rugged mountains and form a landscape that seems almost surreal.

In the end, you return to Leh - with memories that go far beyond the visible, and with a sense of peace, clarity and inner connection, as only Ladakh can give.

This is not just a journey – it is height, silence and soul, experienced in an unadulterated way.

What to expect during your trip

  • Drive over the Khardung La, one of the highest passable passes in the world, with spectacular views of the mountain landscapes.

  • Discover the deep tranquility in the peaceful and spiritual monasteries of Ladakh.

  • Ride on a two-humped camel through the surreal dunes of the cold desert in the Nubra Valley.

  • Spend the night in a high mountain desert camp under a sparkling starry sky.

  • Experience the ever-changing shades of blue of the breathtaking Pangong Lake.

DAY 1:

Upon your arrival at Leh Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and accompanied to your hotel.

Already at the first impression you can feel the clear high-altitude air and the impressive, barren landscape of this high-altitude place. After check-in you have time to relax and arrive.

Since you are at high altitude, good acclimatization is especially important. Therefore, you should take it easy for the rest of the day and give your body time to slowly get used to the environment.

Overnight stay in Leh.

DAY 2:

After breakfast you will go on a full-day trip to and around Leh.

You start with a visit to the Hall of Fame, a museum dedicated to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for India during the Indo-Pak Wars.

Then go to the Stok-Kloster before you reach the Indus View Point, from which you can see the impressive landscape and - depending on the route - the region of the confluence of Indus and Zanskar.

Along the way, you will visit the Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, a revered Sikh Sanctum, as well as the famous Magnetic Hill, a fascinating natural phenomenon where vehicles seem to roll uphill when they are idle.

In the afternoon you return to Leh.

In the evening you will visit the quiet Shanti Stupa, explore the historic Leh Palace and take a relaxing walk over the lively Leh Market.

DAY 4:

After breakfast you will explore the fascinating Nubra Valley (approx. 3,050 m).

You will visit Hunder, which is known for its sand dunes and its unique landscape. Here you also have the opportunity to discover the surroundings, visit neighboring villages and get in touch with locals. Optionally, you can visit a traditional Ladakh house and try butter tea and barley specialties there.

A special highlight is the camel ride on the two-bumpy Bactrian camels - a rare experience that only exists in this form in this region.

Afterwards, you will take a trip to Turtuk, a picturesque village on the banks of the Shyok River. It is one of the northernmost villages in India and is known for its cultural heritage, its predominantly Muslim population, green landscapes and apricot groves. The area was opened to tourism only a few years ago and has largely preserved its original, untouched character.

Overnight stay in the Nubra Valley.

DAY 5:

After breakfast you check out of the camp and drive on to the impressive Pangong Lake.

On the way you will visit the famous Diskit-Kloster, which offers a wide panoramic view over the Nubra Valley and is one of the most important monasteries in the region.

Then you will continue your journey on the scenically spectacular Shyok Route, which is known for its dramatic mountain landscapes and impressive views.

After you arrive at Lake Pangong, you check in at your camp and enjoy the stunning beauty of the lake, which is famous for its ever-changing shades of blue.

Overnight stay at Lake Pangong.

DAY 6:

You start the day early to see the magical sunrise at Lake Pangong (approx. 4,300 m) when the calm water shimmers in changing colors in the first light of the day.

After breakfast, you check out of the camp and drive back to Leh via the Chang-La-Pass, one of the highest roads in the world.

On the way you will visit the Shey Palace, a historic complex on a hill, as well as the Hemis-Kloster, which is about 45 km from Leh. It was rebuilt in 1672 by King Sengge Namgyal and is one of the most important and rich monasteries in Ladakh. Every year the colorful Hemis Festival takes place here in honor of Padmasambhava.

Then we continue to the Thiksey Cloistery, which is picturesquely located on a hill and is often compared to the Potala Palace in Lhasa. It belongs to the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism and houses an impressive, gilded statue of the Maitreya Buddha - the largest in Ladakh - as well as a community of about 120 monks.

You will also visit the Sindhu Ghat, a quiet place on the banks of the Indus River.

Then you continue your journey to Leh. After arrival you check in at the hotel. The evening is at your disposal.
