Experience the ultimate surfing adventure at our Gay Surf Retreat in the beautiful coastal town of Baleal, Portugal, from October 10 to 17, 2026. In this picturesque surfer’s paradise, you’ll enjoy the perfect combination of vibrant culture, stunning beaches, and world-class waves for every skill level.

This year, we will be staying in two cozy, lovingly decorated surf houses located right next to each other, with an in-house chef preparing healthy meals. Altogether, there are 9 rooms, all with private bathrooms. The houses are close to the surf spots, far from any noise, and simply incredibly charming.

Why Baleal?

Baleal is a true gem on Portugal’s Silver Coast, renowned for its excellent surfing conditions. This charming town captivated us last year with its relaxed, authentic surfer vibe: winding streets, cozy cafés, and a welcoming, friendly community. But the real magic unfolds on the water.

Beaches and Waves in Baleal:

Thanks to its consistent swells, Baleal is a paradise for surfers of all levels. The unique geography of the Peniche Peninsula offers a variety of surf spots, ensuring the perfect wave for any wind and swell direction. From the beginner-friendly waves at Cantinho da Baía to the more challenging breaks at Supertubos, everyone can find their wave here.

Video Analysis:

One of the best ways to improve is to watch yourself surf. Comfortably seated on the big sofa in front of the TV, we review the day’s footage together, enjoy some drinks, discuss what went well, laugh at everyone’s mishaps, and show how to improve.

Close to Nazaré:

Just a short drive away is Nazaré, home to the biggest waves in the world. During large swells, we take a trip to this legendary spot to witness the ocean’s incredible power, creating waves up to 30 meters high. An unforgettable sight and the ultimate experience for surfers to connect and share the thrill.

Beyond Surfing – Berlenga Grande:

Another excursion option is Berlenga Grande, part of the Berlengas Archipelago. Discover crystal-clear waters, fascinating marine life, and a historic fortress. Whether snorkeling, hiking, or simply relaxing in the sun, Berlenga Grande offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle.
